Selecting software can be a challenge. I have selected several categories of software and selected what I feel are the ten best in each category. They are ranked in order. If you have used the software and have comments please let us know through the comments. If you have suggestions for inclusion also let us know. The lists are fluid, and I will change them based on newer versions, more information, and comments. The way I select the software listed is based on a number of factors including price, ease of use, effectiveness, learning curve, capability, and just general likability. I include open source software and commercial software.
