Tutor Vista is a Powerful online tutoring tool
As a teacher I often get asked for recommendations of good tutors. Although we have a few moderately qualified tutors in our little town, the prices are expensive and out of reach for most parents. In small towns like mine effective online tutoring is the best option available. Up until recently I would recommend Sylvan Online, but the cost was high and although it was a good system, I do not feel it was the most effective. I recently discovered what I feel is the best deal in, not only online tutoring, but in tutoring in general. It is called Tutor Vista at http://www.tutorvista.com.
Tutor Vista is a very powerful online tutoring environment that allows students to schedule and work with tutors at any time 24 hours a day. The technology allows the student and tutor to communicate verbally, through typing, and through a whiteboard. The tutors are highly trained , with Masters degrees in the subjects they tutor. You can find tutors for almost any subject or test. The biggest strength lies in the price. It is about $20 an hour, or unlimited use for $100 per month. This is by far the most cost efficient one on one tutoring system available.
I am now excited to recommend this system to all of my parents. Even in locations where many tutoring options are available this is one of the best solutions, because of the high quality of instruction. The affordability of the system makes it a clear choice.

Tutor Vista’s Refund policy is horrible. Once you give your credit card, they keep charging for ever, even though you intimate them to cancel the service by email. We paid one month fee with out taking even a single class. Don’t ever sign up with them. I never see a such an horrible customer service support. It seems like there is no communication within the company.
I sympathize with the users who have posted regarding problems with Tutor Vista. Tutor Vista the information in which we based the positive review is based on solid information, but I do not Question the validity of the complaints. If anyone else has had good or bad experiences with Tutor Vista, please post so we can get a better overall picture of the quality of Tutor Vista’s service. In the mean time I will edit the original article to mention that readers should view the comments.

This online tutoring service is excellent.But the way they are changing the policies
without informing student is horrible and it creates doubt about their creditibility.
First of all they saying it is unlimited but you can only schedule 7 classes at a time.
now they are changing the policies and saying that a student can schedule only one
class per day. Imaging if kids have vacation in the school and if they can schedule
only one class a day then what is the meaning of spending $100 per month? i am screwed
now because i have paid money for six months. so think twice before paying money for
few months. this company is in India so God knows how u can fight for refund.Even my
relationship manager was not able to help me out.

Please view the contact information on the website and contact them directly to try to resolve your issues. Otherwise follow typical procedures to IE contacting better business bureau of it’s location to help you resolve the issue.

We used Tutor Vista for our high school student but he had difficulty understanding the heavy accent of the tutors from India. I suspect this is because the Indian population learned English under the British educational system leading to a peculiar accent to the American ear. Whatever the reasoning we decided to discontinue. We had to cancel/reissue our credit card to get them to stop charging! No communication inside this company nothing but apologies. The tutoring concept is good and the price is right so with some research we found another alternative (www.tikibeachtutors.com) only this time WITHOUT the 1-800 Indian accents - ever! So far so good - we’re happy. What is that expression “same, same but different” ? I hope Tutor Vista can get their act together but we couldn’t wait around.
I hvae cancelled the subscription, but they renewed automatically. I have called them and they said this is technical problem.
It is almost impossible to contact them and cancel it.

problem in understanding the tutor accent.Now i am comfortable with the their service
and i improved lot because of TutorVista , i am following some steps
1)I will make a call and ask the tutors email address and send my questions 10 hour before
the session time , with this initative tutor will come to know my requirement and he will teach me better
2)I belive most of the Tutors of TutorVista are are excellent , because i had taken session
with 10 different tutors on 4 different subject .
3)i will keep in touch with customer service department every day and they all become
my friends .
TutorVista is only the tutoring company where we can get tutoring at affordable price.
Some days i too get some problems with their service but i make them to work for me by calling them and keeping friendly relationship with them

I have used TutorVista for nearly 8 months now in two stretches. Sometimes have experienced Internet connection difficulty from my end but their Customer service is very good. They have always called addressed the problem and given me a solution.My recommendation is that you call or email them and they will respond. When I went on a break , they refunded my money . So do not see an issue there.
When I tried scheduling at short notice , I always do not get the Tutor of my choice - that is the only complaint I have.
At $ 100 per month expecting two or three one-on-one sessions per day i.e. around 90 sessions for $ 100 is too much. I use three sessions a week which works out to $ 8 per hour of personalized tution which is great value for money.

Im surprised by the strong negative views on Tutor Vista. I would like to
compare various tutoring sites, such as Vie-Nova, Tutoring School Trainer, Tutor Easy and Tutor Next. Do you have any comparative data on this?
Tutor vista though cheap, very unreliable. Tutors not showing up and technical difficulty is the most common excuse that they show. Refund policy is horrible. It would take for ever to get something done there.
I used them for more than 6 months. During that period, I must have complained them seven times with “NO OUTCOME”. They remain same. Promises, promises….
